Samsonite is the world’s largest seller of luggage and travel accessories. The Company makes everything from suitcases to duffels, to travel accessories. Originally named the Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company, the company was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder. Later in 1941 the Company was renamed Samsonite after the Biblical figure Samson (Samson and Delilah) who was known for his strength that was unachievable by ordinary men. The Company is one of the most renowned and influential luggage brands and has a variety of luggage lines to satisfy everyone’s needs. Most recently the Company has come out with their Black Label collection (Samsonite Vintage, Scope and X’Lite) which includes a collaboration with design guru Marc Newson called the Samsonite Scope Collection which is the centerpiece of this new endeavor.
