Hotel Review: Omni William Penn Hotel - Pittsburgh, PA

August 29th, 2006

Omni William Penn Hotel

The Omni William Penn is the best Hotel in Pittsburgh for the business traveler. It’s centrally located within the Pittsburgh business district, and has Free Internet Access in all the rooms. And if you are not staying at the hotel, or waiting for your room to get ready, there is a Starbucks hotspot within the hotel. I also think there is free-wifi in the Lobby, but don’t quote me on that. The prices are great for a four star hotel, every time I have checked, the starting prices are $109! Don’t really have anything bad to say about this hotel in my review, which is atypical In my limited experience of Pittsburgh, this hotel seems to be a good, safe bet. And is really the only place I’m going to try when I go back.

Hotel Review: La Valencia Hotel - La Jolla, CA

July 27th, 2006

La Valencia Hotel

Trying to find a good place to stay in San Diego is surprisingly not an easy task. If you are sick of the downtown Gaslamp area hipsters and want something more tranquil try staying up in La Jolla which is 10 minutes away from the city and is a great beach town. And for places to stay within the city there is none other than the La Valencia Hotel. The service staff was great, they even let me use a charger for my cell phone when like most travelers, I forgot one. Also they called me twice to make sure my stay was going well, that service you just don’t get at places like the W Hotel Downtown. Another great benefit that I was happy to see was free in-room Internet access. I don’t understand why more hotels don’t offer this, but this was a game changer for me.

Hotel Review: Phoenix Hotel - San Francisco, CA

June 15th, 2006

Phoenix Hotel

I tried to find an image that most closely relates to how the Phoenix Hotel looks in person, but unfortunately all the images online are done by a very good photographer. If the picture above is what you are expecting, you are going to be sorely disappointed. And to say that this hotel is in a rough area is putting it litely. This hotel is in the worst slum in San Francisco, called the Tenderloin. I just wanted to get that out of the way before we start the review, if you are turned off by these two facts then stop reading, if you are still intrigued read on!

Hotel Review: The Huntington Hotel - San Francisco, CA

February 3rd, 2006

The Huntington Hotel San Francsico

One of the greatest things about visiting the City by the Bay is the ability to walk almost anywhere you need to go, and places that are not walkable are just a short cab-ride away. There is really something freeing when you travel to a city, and you know that you are so central to the action that you can always easily get back to your hotel for a quick nap, or just being able to get your bearings quickly while in a new city.
