Hotel Review: The Huntington Hotel - San Francisco, CA

The Huntington Hotel San Francsico

One of the greatest things about visiting the City by the Bay is the ability to walk almost anywhere you need to go, and places that are not walkable are just a short cab-ride away. There is really something freeing when you travel to a city, and you know that you are so central to the action that you can always easily get back to your hotel for a quick nap, or just being able to get your bearings quickly while in a new city.

The key benefit to The Huntingtion Hotel in San Francisco is that Nob Hill is smack dab in the middle of the city, allowing you to get to Downtown, North Beach or the Marina with great speed. It’s also an amazingly historic hotel, next to Mark Hopkins and also very close to the Ritz Carlton. This hotel is great for the business traveler, but when going for a vacaction, you may want to think about going to a hotel in the flats of San Francisco. When you want to do a leisurely stroll to Union Square, nothing it leisurely about staying at the Huntington. The “Hill” in Nob Hill makes this hotel extremely rough for someone who wants to take in the City by walking around and seeing the sites. I can’t tell you how many times I had to brave the hill past the Mark Hopkins up to the hotel. Everytime you climb back up that hill you need to take a nap, or take a rest after all the energy you expended to get there.

This is a great hotel, and don’t want to take anything away from it, and the gorgeous hills are what make San Francisco beautiful, but sometimes its hard to see the forest through the trees when its 4pm after a big lunch trying to get back to your hotel.
